Career & Education

How to get your professional credentials recognized and obtain licenses in NJ and NY.

Do You Need a Professional License?

Many professions in the US require a state license to practice, including:

  • Engineering and architecture
  • Accounting (CPA)
  • Law
  • Teaching
  • Real estate
  • Cosmetology and barbering
Credential Evaluation

If you have degrees or professional qualifications from Morocco, you will likely need a credential evaluation from a NACES-member organization to prove your education is equivalent to a US degree.

Steps
  1. Check if your profession requires a license in NJ or NY
  2. Get your foreign credentials evaluated (WES or ECE recommended)
  3. Apply for the appropriate state license
  4. Pass any required exams
